At American Occultist LLC, we want you to feel confident in every purchase. If something isn’t right, we proudly offer a 30-Day Hassle-Free Return Policy on most items, ensuring a smooth and transparent experience from start to finish.
Return Eligibility
You may request a return within 30 calendar days from the date your order is marked as delivered by the carrier. Day 1 is the day your order shows as delivered. All returned items must be:
- Unused and in their original packaging
- In the same condition as received
- Accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt)
Any return sent without prior authorization may be refused and returned to the sender at their expense.
How to Request a Return
- Email support@americanoccultist.store with your order number and reason for return.
- If approved, we’ll issue a return authorization and instructions for shipping your item back.
- You are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the item was received damaged or incorrect.
Processing & Refund Timeline
Once your return is received and inspected:
- Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method or issued as store credit within 5–7 business days.
- We will email you confirmation once your refund or exchange is complete.
If your item is not approved for return (e.g., used, damaged, or non-eligible), we will contact you directly to discuss next steps. If we do not receive a response within 10 business days of our outreach, the return will be considered abandoned and automatically canceled, with no refund or credit issued.
Restocking Fee
All approved returns are subject to a restocking fee of up to 15%, covering inspection, repackaging, and processing costs in line with industry standards for handcrafted and boutique goods.
Non-Returnable & Disallowed Items
Due to the ritual, spiritual, and hygienic nature of certain products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on the following:
- Candles
- Oils & Ritual Anointing Blends
- Incense
- Ritual Dirts, Powders, and Waters
- Smoke Cleansing Wands
- Ritual Herbs, Salts, and Loose Botanicals
- Earrings and Plugs
- Custom-made or personalized ritual items
- Final-sale or clearance products
We also cannot accept returns due to buyer’s remorse, incorrect sizing, or dislike of color, scent, or style after use. Please read all product descriptions carefully before ordering.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and include clear photos of the packaging and item. We’ll verify the issue quickly and issue a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges except for defective or incorrect items reported within 7 days. If the exact replacement is unavailable, you may choose an item of equal value, store credit, or a refund to your original payment method.
Order Cancellations
Orders may be canceled within 1 hour of placement by emailing support@americanoccultist.store. After 1 hour, orders enter processing and cannot be canceled. Custom and made-to-order ritual goods are non-cancellable once submitted.
Lost or Missing Packages
If your order is marked as delivered but you have not received it:
- Check with household members or neighbors first.
- Contact your local carrier office for assistance.
- Then email us within 7 days of the delivery scan. We’ll coordinate with the carrier to investigate and help resolve the issue.
Platform & Payment Policy Compliance
All returns and refunds must comply with the terms of this policy as stated here and with Shopify and TikTok Shop seller-protection guidelines.
